Standing opposite the exit to Foxfield railway station the pub is a haven for real ale fans and lovers of the traditional pub. You are always made to feel welcome and is a pub that you should make that special effort to go to. The pub is on the local bus route but by far the easiest way is to get the train to Foxfield station. Barrow to Foxfield is a very reasonable £3.40 and takes around 20 minutes. Foxfield is a request stop so make sure you tell the conductor.

Bus Route
511 from Ulverston (Mon - Sat)
X7 from Barrow or Millom (Mon - Sat)
X6 / X7 from Barrow or Whitehaven (Sunday).

The pub brews its own ale as well as having a fine selection of constantly changing ales. It is currently undergoing a facelift on the inside and is looking fresh and comfortable. In winter the real fires roar away and with no distraction of the dreaded television there is always a good conversation going on. The pub serves a limited menu of good pub food at around £5 a go.
